CBC's Mary Lou Finlay retires!
Nov. 30th, 2005 06:34 pmCo-host of CBC Radio's "As It Happens," Mary Lou Finlay, hosted her last episode tonight.
I first encountered her on CTV television's "Live It Up" back in the late 1970s and was surprised when she joined Barbara Frum as a co-anchor of "The Journal" on CBC television in 1981. Mary Lou & Barbara together were an important part of my nightly pre-bed ritual during my high school days. While I haven't been a regular listener since moving to the US, I loved tuning periodically via the Internet or occasionally catching "As It Happens" on NPR late at night.
I will miss listening Mary Lou. Hopefully, she will still return with periodic assignments. I look forward to learning who will fill her seat at AIH.
