Latest Mainstream Class Completed!
Nov. 6th, 2005 10:45 amYesterday afternoon was the last of a series of eight 4-hour class sessions for the new Mainstream square dance class in Baltimore. The entire list had been completed in the prior session per schedule, so this latest session was dedicated to review, drill, flourishes and anything at all the students wished to dance.
For the most part, these new dancers are ready to head to next weekend's Harper's Ferry Hoedown. A couple of folks have difficulty with scoot back (not yet internalizing the overall geometry of it, I think) and circulates (recognizing in a timely fashion where their next position would be if starting from a facing-out position), but both of these only need some floor time at next Tuesday's club night to help solidify. Because of scheduling conflicts, the formal club night graduation event will be Tuesday, November 15.
Kent & I are calling the next club night while Dayle is on business in Connecticut, DC has cancelled their upcoming Thursday club night because the church requires the space that night, then we're all off to Harper's Ferry Hoedown XI next Friday. Whee!
