A while back, my primary email account started receiving hundreds of email list subscription notifications. Buried in the middle of that was a single transaction using my stolen credit card number to buy a laptop from Apple. I would likely have missed the Apple transaction had I not also gotten an alert from AmEx and various notifications from Apple confirming the transaction.
