This new Action Trek is *not* Gene's Vision at all, merely a cash-in of the brand into a mainstream action sci-fi film. I was entertained, but I think I am burning out on modern filmmaking. Most Hollywood/mainstream films are shot in exactly the same way, and the story arcs all follow the same notes. I gave this one 3/5.
Hunt for the Wilderpeople however, I thought was a lot of fun, and shot in a very different way than this (of course, it's a Kiwi film, so it's bound to have a different perspective). Check it out if you can.
