I have a plaque over my computer that reads: "You can't control everything - Your hair was put on your head to remind you of that".
I had a self-inflicted problem recently, trying to get the sides of my moustache even - I ended up with a Hitlerian min-stache! It grew back.
I think the photo you posted later looks just fine!
