In 1994, I was honored to call on the float for the San Francisco Gay Pride. Coincidenally, the event fell on my 40th birthday party, and I still have the tshirt. :-) It went really well, and the contingent won the award for the best walking group.
But after the parade, which felt like hours and hours and hours, with the long wait beforehand, everyone scattered to the winds amongst the 200,000 or so partygoers there.
Although I wandered around a bit, I have NEVER felt so alone and lonely in all my life. I stayed for about an hour, then wandered back to Freeman's house...
