What I find interesting is that there was no period of shock...there also didn't seem to be any injuries and nobody looked to assessing damage to oneself or the vehicles. Also, if the accident happened *right in front* of the guy, he was either stopped or making a turn/going through the intersection himself, you'd think you'd have heard the impact, especially since the call was clear and he didn't appear to be breaking up. Even after he'd apparantly stopped, you couldn't hear the voices of anyone outside...perhaps the little old ladies weren't saying anything, but a guy in a white shirt with a cigarette hanging out of his mouth isn't going to be completely silent while taking a beating from three people at once considering (my opinion) he felt his feather ruffled, evidenced by his described actions as he got out of the truck.
Just too many things about it made it seem fabricated...I know that if I were hit by a guy who didn't stop for a light, it's not very likely I'm going to immediately get out and start hitting him with an umbrella.
