At the moment, I have my Palm syncing with my XP box, I'm transferring fund between accounts --today is payday-- and writing this update on my iMac, checking e-mail on the Linux box and I'm logged into the office with my office laptop. Ah, the miracles of modern technology fuelled by large quantities of caffeine.

We're 99% packed & ready to leave at 11 AM for a weekend of square dancing in Pennsylvania. Kent still has to collect his new glasses from the optician's; we're waiting for [livejournal.com profile] zzbear and Mark to arrive before we do the final stuffing of shoes & handbags luggage into the minivan. I have a 10 AM conference call I could weasel out of, but since I have nothing better to do and it is on a project dear to my heart, I'll call in; that, and doing so turns today into an abbreviated work day instead of a vacation day, thus preserving my vacation allowance for more important events --like sleeping in-- later in the year.

A/C square dancing last night was fun... John Marshall was calling, using a mix of gentle, challenging and truly demented A2 material (not dancing C1, I can't begin to determine the level of difficulty there). Our squares handled most of the A2 stuff relatively well, although we did crash & burn a few times. He and I had a chance to chat before & after dancing, and since he's calling with Pennsylvania this weekend with Anne Uebelacker and [livejournal.com profile] billeyler, I'll see him again in a few hours.

I talked up a number of the other A2 dancers concerning Ett's C1 proposal while I had the opportunity. The two I most expected to be interested are indeed keen on the idea. One person was conditional. Three more were either "no" or "hell no!" There are still a few more who weren't in attendance I need to ask, and a few bodies from Baltimore and surrounding areas who might be interested. More news as it comes up.
