Mike Jacobs Memorial Update

It was announced last night that the upcoming Mike Jacobs memorial event will be held at Cherry Hill Park, College Park, Maryland, on Saturday, January 30, 2010.

Tentatively, there will be a memorial service at 1pm, then an all-level memorial square dance following in the social hall.

More details as they develop.

I'm glad to hear that your group is doing something in his memory. Please let Independence Squares know the details when you have finalized things, as I'm sure that some of us will want to attend.

Actually, the bulk of the coordination seems to be done thus far by Betsy & Roy Gotta. I'm not sure who else they're working with to bring this together. Since the dance is only a few miles from our home, I'm happy to contribute wherever I can to make this work.

This is the memorial done by the family of Mike Jacobs. Kristy, his daughter, is planning and executing the memorial and dance following the memorial, with the help of a selected few callers, including Roy and Betsy Gotta, John Marshall, and Tom Miller.
