Housekeeping

I noticed that the storage cabinet in my cube at work is now so stuffed with junk that I can't really recall what useful bits of hardware were present. This morning, after the frantic e-mail catch-up on weekend activities & reports, I began cleaning out the cabinet.

I now have about 750 gigabytes worth of hard drives spread across my desk in little stacks, sorted by make & model. Whee.

Yeah, I just can't throw away perfectly good equipment, even if I have no immediate use for it. I also have a stack of sbus cards (fibre, ethernet, scsi, etc.), a few gigabytes of memory dimms, enough spare cat5 cable to wrap around the building a couple of times, etc.. If I could get away with it, I'd have a yard sale with the lot.

How about a storage cabinet that's not in your work space? Could you donate the parts you can't use to a local charity perhaps?

Not that you necessarily NEED a solution, but I know what you're going through.
