Ever wonder what 800 banquet meal tickets look like?

You're welcome.

Now to work on 800 brunch tickets...

March is question month. Got a question for me? Leave it here (screened).

Without a serial number system, with barcodes, how do you prevent counterfeit tickets from getting into the banquet?

[identity profile] abqdan.livejournal.com 2009-03-22 03:45 pm (UTC)(link)
I assume there is a hologram and an RFID chip on the back of each ticket. Simple!

Believe me, there are much larger fish to fry in preparation for this never-ending nightmare... banquet fraud is not on my list of priorities.

If you're thinking of making a fake ticket and popping by, make sure it's a beef ticket and let me know so I can get you a spot at the VIP tables. :-)

I hate to be a stickler, but the date on them is wrong.

ha ha ha ha. Just kidding.

You officially owe me at least a drink. Possibly more. We'll discuss.

Bring it on.

OK Mr. Inclusive, where are the Halal tickets huh? :)

[identity profile] moofedct.livejournal.com 2009-03-22 03:16 am (UTC)(link)
Halal is typically accepted as being satisfied if a meal is certified kosher (and vice versa.) But see my question below. :)

[identity profile] weekilter.livejournal.com 2009-03-22 05:06 am (UTC)(link)
Mostly, but not completely. And not the other way around.

[identity profile] moofedct.livejournal.com 2009-03-22 03:27 am (UTC)(link)
After reading more about you, I guess you might have already know that. Sorry!

[identity profile] moofedct.livejournal.com 2009-03-22 03:15 am (UTC)(link)
Are the meals kosher meat? kosher dairy? parve?

Not that it affects me, I'm just askin... :)

[identity profile] bjarvis.livejournal.com 2009-03-24 10:50 am (UTC)(link)
Not sure, exactly: the hotel outsources the kosher meals 'cause they're not equipped to prepare them fully & properly. All I know is that they're certified glatt kosher and they're off my to-do list. :-)

[identity profile] moofedct.livejournal.com 2009-03-24 05:08 pm (UTC)(link)
Ah, well glatt is a certification that applies to meat. So that will include eats, veggies, breads/grains. (Anything "glatt" won't be mixed with anything dairy.) Anyway, with all you have to do, I'm glad it's one less thing to worry about.

Hey! Get ready to add 2 more beef plates! We didn't think we'd be able to make Convention this year, but we put our registration in the mail yesterday, so we won't have to stay in St. Louis over Easter! Life is good again!

[identity profile] bjarvis.livejournal.com 2009-03-24 10:50 am (UTC)(link)
We'll see you there!

At first looking at that pic, I thought you had been making new "Chance" and "Community Chest" cards for some mutant version of Monopoly. Something about the shape and colors of those cards is just irresistibly evocative of that.
