Tax Refund Arrives!

My tax refund was deposited in my bank account last night, requiring about 10 business days for processing. Yay!

And it's all going out again to pay down credit cards. Boo.

Meh. The feds denied my e-Filed return so I had to postal-mail my tax returns this year. My refunds should get to me by April, supposedly.

I still have information slips to come, but once they do, I'll finish playing online with Ufile.ca [which was the princely sum of $16.95 taxes included], they'll prepare the electronic file and I'll upload that to the Canada Revenue Agency site. Once the CRA get it, they're really quick - 10 business days or less, if I file before mid-March.

However THIS year I'll try to avoid last year's stooopid mistake. A typo in my charitable donations listing meant I claimed a gift of $1000 to the Red Cross when it was only $100. I realised this when reading through the PDF version Ufile sent me - said read-through being 15min after I'd uploaded the return to the CRA. It took quite a while to sort that one out, and no-one to blame but moi. Duh.

So this year, I'll make sure to proofread before publishing.

Rats! I was hoping to apply for a bailout.
