Square Dancing in Rehoboth Beach, DE

It's been a long, long day --and it's still in progress.

I went to Betsy Gotta's C1 workshop this morning at 10 AM; it was tremendous fun, although we spent more time going over standard applications of calls for some calls on the C1 list rather than workshopping non-standard apps, odd formations or lefty versions. Ah, well... that's also what workshops are for.

I emceed the GCA Plus hour while [livejournal.com profile] kent4str took the Mainstream hour. In both cases, we had enough guest callers for each block that neither of us had to call ourselves. Where appropriate, we stepped in to complete a square or provide outside guidance when a call went south. In all, it was quite successful. We still have an hour of GCA A2 tomorrow afternoon.

We enjoyed a nap in the late afternoon before dressing for the grand march ce soir and the subsequent dancing. I think we clean up nicely:

I also corralled the available GCA callers for a group photo ([livejournal.com profile] allanh: feel free to use it as filler if you have some newsletter space to fill): Alan Hirsch and Drew Allen are also attending but were MIA:

There's still much dancing left for tonight but my feet are killing me. :-)

Brian: Since I just happened to lob an email your way (on Pam's suggestion), asking about your CALLERLLAB group photo(s), the timing of this particular entry was quite serendipitous.

Can you please provide me with the names of the folks in the photo?

Thank you!

I am SO glad that ya'll eschew the ticky-tacky straight people square dance attire. A real big check in the plus column if Alex and I ever have a chance to participate.

unless I'm mistaken, Kent appears to be wearing pearls with his black shirt. You simply can NOT go wrong in basic black and pearls. So of course he looks faaabulous. kinda cute guy with him too.

Those are Sinko-de-Myo beads from the Mexican restaurant wee had dinner at (o the 3rd, hence the spelling). They're red, green, & white on one strand. Uber tacky, but fun.

they are fun indeed. close enough to pearls for moi. heaven knows none of my pearls have ever seen the inside of an oyster.
