NYC, Day 2

The morning started a little later than we planned, largely 'cause we needed the sleep. (Actually, I still could have used another two hours of sleep, but I can catch up on snoozing when we get home.)

Here's the view of the Empire State Building from our hotel room, taken while waiting for the guys to finish dressing:

We had a very nice brunch with [livejournal.com profile] stormecho & Patrick at Florent:

On advice from our brunch locals, we walked a while hopped the subway down to Delancy so [livejournal.com profile] kent4str could visit a particular gluten-free bakery. At a separate bakery, Jeff found cupcakes and proceeded to embarrass us all on the street:

And then we walked. And walked. And walked. And walked. I can't even estimate how many miles we trekked, but that was --for me, at least-- the entire point of the trip to NYC in the first place. We collapsed in our hotel room, barely able to get our shoes off. I wasn't planning to nap but we all dozed off for at least two hours.

Our feet and legs still hurting, we opted for dinner at a restaurant as near to our hotel as possible. Indeed, we landed at a Korean restaurant immediately next door to the hotel entrance. Having had Koren food only once prior, I was a bit of a novice but we had a great time.

Before & After:

In search of dessert, we trekked up 6th Avenue towards Times Square. I would have been content with a restaurant with perhaps cake or pie on the menu but we finally ended at Cold Stone Creamery where we could utilize some gift cards on hand.

We're drifting off to sleep very shortly. Tomorrow, we check out of the hotel and hopefully meet up with [livejournal.com profile] bearfuz and [livejournal.com profile] placeintheheart for lunch before heading home.

1) jeff is cute
2) thats the scariest picture of michael in the final shot. LOL! His face says "don't even think of fucking with me while I'm eating my ice cream - don't even think about it" - or maybe his facial expression has something to do with its 10 degrees outside why are we eating ice cream?
3) You and Kent are so wonderfully happy in all these shots! Yay!3</sup) 4) if you see chip and john tomorrow give them a big muffinated hug for me. I'll let you intrepret that how ever you'd like. :)

and that's not all

Jeff is also single.

Yeah, you don't mess with that guy until (a) he's had enough coffee and (b) he's finished his ice cream. One interrupts him at his/her peril! :-)

And yup, life is great!

[livejournal.com profile] bearfuz and [livejournal.com profile] placeintheheart say hi! I'd have done more to remember you to them but the tables in the diner were already loaded with food, of all things. :-)

a) do you have contact info or could you accomplish a 'handshake' between myself and jeff
b) and here I thought Michael was a morning person. Where would I have gotten that impression?
c) i like the longish beard
d) :)

a) I'll point him in your direction.
b) He does better with mornings than either Kent or me, but a half-gallon of coffee is a prerequisite.
c) Thanks! More to grip... :-)
