The problem with having two husbands...

... is that the gift-wrapping just never ends.

sigh

Do you hear that?

it's the WHAAAAAAA-bulance coming for you.

[identity profile] allanh.livejournal.com 2007-12-24 08:20 pm (UTC)(link)
Don't bother wrapping them; I'll eat them both right here.

[identity profile] bjarvis.livejournal.com 2007-12-24 08:47 pm (UTC)(link)
They are Atkins-friendly...

[identity profile] ann0625.livejournal.com 2007-12-24 08:20 pm (UTC)(link)
You could have used the last $50 to hire someone to wrap them for you:).

[identity profile] bjarvis.livejournal.com 2007-12-24 08:47 pm (UTC)(link)
Now she tells me. :-)

I should have stopped shopping two presents ago each.

So hide them somewhere (and write yourself a reminder note what and where this time) and use 'em next year.

[identity profile] bjarvis.livejournal.com 2007-12-24 08:50 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm very tempted to relabel at least one of them as a gift back to myself 'cause I want it.

[identity profile] snowboardjoe.livejournal.com 2007-12-24 10:51 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh, honey, it will be on sale on the 26th anyway. :p

[identity profile] bjarvis.livejournal.com 2007-12-24 11:04 pm (UTC)(link)
Good point... I'll keep an eye open. :-)

Use both eyes.

[identity profile] kent4str.livejournal.com 2007-12-26 04:55 pm (UTC)(link)
Which one was it - you do have a birthday coming up...

[identity profile] themacbear.livejournal.com 2007-12-24 08:48 pm (UTC)(link)
Tell me about it... I have three. Oy.

[identity profile] bjarvis.livejournal.com 2007-12-24 08:50 pm (UTC)(link)
So that shockwave we felt was the economy expanding suddenly under the weight of your shopping?

[identity profile] themacbear.livejournal.com 2007-12-24 08:53 pm (UTC)(link)
I think it was actually my credit card imploding, creating a small black hole in my pocket.

[identity profile] billeyler.livejournal.com 2007-12-24 09:22 pm (UTC)(link)
Do you tape or staple the bows to your husbands, or is it an excessive use of twine to tie them up?

[identity profile] bjarvis.livejournal.com 2007-12-24 09:28 pm (UTC)(link)
Tape 'em... it's cheaper. We'll use the twine this year and worry about gettnig matching handcuffs for next time.

[personal profile] jss 2007-12-24 11:34 pm (UTC)(link)
Bondage tape, gaffers tape, or duct tape?

[identity profile] bjarvis.livejournal.com 2007-12-25 12:18 am (UTC)(link)
I prefer gaffers. We have plenty around the house, it resists moisture & heat and doesn't leave a gummy residue.

Nice.

[identity profile] trawnapanda.livejournal.com 2007-12-25 02:39 pm (UTC)(link)
don't any of those varieties of tape rip out hair?

I would have thought that the sight of hairy husbands with little bald strips across [arms / chest / ankles / other portions of the anatomy] where the bondage strips were would be quite amusing (and DEFinitely worth a before/after photo). However, I'm strongly suspicious it might be less than popular with the aforesaid slightly-less-hairy-than-previously husbands, since the tape- and simultaneous hair-removal would prolly be somewhat ouchy.

just a guess.

[identity profile] rsc.livejournal.com 2007-12-24 09:56 pm (UTC)(link)
But it's nice to have all that unwrapping to do, isn't it?

[identity profile] deege.livejournal.com 2007-12-24 10:16 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm sure that gift wrapping isn't the only thing that lasts longer. Time for some perspective!

[identity profile] quirkstreet.livejournal.com 2007-12-24 10:29 pm (UTC)(link)
Yup. I hear you. ;-)

[identity profile] trawnapanda.livejournal.com 2007-12-25 02:47 pm (UTC)(link)
you've only got two husbands. I've got three nephews, each with a wife and assorted children (for a total of 5.5 great-neices/nephews), assorted sisters and brothers-in-law and other hangers-on. It's Christmas morning, and I haven't started wrapping. I haven't seen the surface of the dining table for a week and a half, it being covered with unwrapped stuff.

and I haven't STARTED wrapping.

fortunately, the family gathering around the outsized poultry with gift exchange isn't until Boxing Day.

(the 0.5 great neice/nephew, not due to be born until Victoria Day, isn't getting any prezzies. but the rest are).

eeeek! I foresee an ugly ugly evening tonight with me wearing scraps of paper and stickytape.

[identity profile] bjarvis.livejournal.com 2007-12-25 06:09 pm (UTC)(link)
Since my nieces & nephew all live in Canada, I just shop over the Internet from .ca suppliers and order gift-wrapping at check-out. It saves a world of hurt in taxes, duties, tariffs and shipping. And energy/sanity.

[identity profile] trawnapanda.livejournal.com 2007-12-25 07:12 pm (UTC)(link)
well yes indeed. I've learned the hard way to buy from amazon.CA if at all possible, the customs hassles with amazon.COM are not worth any savings.

but to have shopped thataway would have required forethought on my part, which, sadly, was missing. The books for great neices/nephews were bought 10 days ago and stuff for adults a week ago. but I haven't gotten behind in gear to wrap.

I'm off to the dinner. hostess prezzies are wrapped, and two (count 'em, 2) of the remaining (quick count) 27 gifts are still on the dining table. sigh.
