And Back in DC Once Again

Our flight home this evening was utterly uneventful: we were seated promptly, the flight was on time, there were no screaming babies and I slept like a log the entire trip.

Our experiment with the daily rate parking garage is deemed a success: the shuttle buses were prompt, we were able to pay for our parking ($32) and exit without difficulty and navigating our way out of the airport grounds was very easy. Even the commute home was relatively smooth and uneventful.

I am now catching up on snail-mail and laundry, as well as copying the weekend's photos off my laptop onto my main workstation. Ahhhh...

Parking?

Just out of curiosity how much was parking per day while you two jetted off? Last time (over five years ago) when I took my truck to send myself off it was $6 per day for off-off-off airport parking at Seattle-Tacoma airport. In contrast to park at Tucson (TUS) it was $2/day *at* the airport!

It varies at BWI, depending on the lot or garage. As one might expect, the closer to the terminal, the more expensive the rate...

$8/day at the long term satellite parking lots, $9/day at the Amtrak/MARC garage, $10/day at the new daily garage, $14/day at the express parking garage, $20/day at the hourly garage. At least with the most expensive rate at the hourly garage, you don't need a shuttle bus.
