Grrr...

All of last week, gasoline prices near my office were $3.039 per gallon. Fortunately, I didn't need to fill up at that time.

Yesterday, I noticed it was $2.939 and there was enough bird crap on the roof of my car to affect its aerodynamics so I topped off the tank and washed off the worst of it.

This morning, the price has jumped to $2.999. I'm sure the rate increase has nothing to do with the approaching weekend...

Um, gasoline prices almost always go up for the weekends (and holidays), mainly due to the localized increased demand. This is not new behavior. Check again on Tuesday and it'll probably be back down again.

Um, I was being sarcastic.

Gasoline prices go up on Thursday and drop Monday nights, especially Memorial Day thu Labour Day. It's most likely been that way since cars were on the road. One more reason why I like the idea of alternate fuel sources for vehicles.

NM has been in the top 5 highest gas rates for a while now...it's back up to $309.9 as an average.

Even in the wilds of NM. My heart isn't breaking for people paying less than $3 :P

This makes me so happy that I almost never drive. Unfortunately, I'll end up paying for it in some way. After all, items don't teleport to stores...

If items did teleport to & from stores, you wouldn't need the Spine Warper 2000 anymore. :-)

Ugh, amen! I would have had a nice new couch today! *sobs*

BTW, that icon is all sorts of awesome. I wish that I had found it first!

Ironically, BEFORE the July 4th holiday, our prices averaged 2.79 per gallon. I was able to use my .40 Giant Eagle grocery savings and filled up for 2.39 before heading south. Unfortunately, sticker shock hit this week as the price has consistently been 3.19 every day of the week - ugh!

Can a rise in air fares be far behind? :-(

[identity profile] cuyahogarvr.livejournal.com 2007-07-12 05:37 pm (UTC)(link)
It already happened - this week too! But, typically, they'll drop again, briefly, around the middle to end of the month.
Why, where are you planning on flying off to?

We still have to purchase our tickets to go west to terrorize [livejournal.com profile] tdjohnsn and [livejournal.com profile] rlegters (and cats) this fall (http://www.iagsdc.org/puddletown/halloween07/).

At least the tickets for Canada and Cleveland in August are already purchased.

I'd be crying if my mileage hadn't dropped 80% in the last week!

This morning's price at the nearest station to my home is $117.4 CAD, or approximately $4.40 US per gallon.

You think that's bad! I've seen when I go to Vancouver the difference between two days a jump of 20 cents per litre (up and down) per day constantly.
