There is something about my posting about Wednesday afternoon's activities which is pissing off LJ in some fashion: it will not post. I tried via the web interface and with the client app Semajic. Both fail.

By experimentation, I found I could post the first two paragraphs but the third causes it to choke, eventually returning a "server not found" error from the web interface, and "unidentified response" from the client app.

Edit: This is at least a known issue... although I question the "intermittent" portion of the problem. It seems to be a 100% failure rate for postings larger than about 1500 characters of text.

It's not just you. There's weirdness. A comment I posted last night was posted twice. naylandblake was describing symptoms almost identical to yours yesterday morning. Etcetera. It's intermittent, but it's real.

Yeah, short entries post well; longer entries die a horrible death. With some additional testing, I've confirmed both Internet Explorer and Safari fail. Damned frustrating.

It's short entries, too. I made a post to my LJ this morning, and it took me seven tries across almost two hours to get all 6 lines of it to 'take'.

Never mind the five attempts this simple reply has required... :-{{{{

I was able to post no problems last evening, but the internal post thingy did get flaky and I had to resort to Lochjournal to get it posted, namely, I was able to get it to italicize something and then it would stop allowing me to do so. Weird.

Lockjournal posted it just fine. I've heard of others having similar problems yesterday too.
