And now I'm really popular...

A new Sarbanes-Oxley compliance evidence request came down the pipeline here at work. They need data up to and including 2 PM of Friday, December 29. I have access to some of the servers involved but not all of them. Since we're contractor-free that week, I've just had to telephone a handful of colleagues to tell them they must cancel whatever vacation plans or early departure they may have been planning for that day.

I anticipate being chased with torches and pitchforks before the day is out.

Oh joy... :-)

I think you enjoyed breaking the news to them!

Not really... I had plans myself for that Friday.

Oh, well color me a little surprised. I guess no one really likes to have to work during those periods, I just figured with everyone taking off anyway and management looking the other way that there would have been a little satisfaction knowing people would be required to step up to the plate. My mistake!

It never occurred to me the implication of Xmas being on Monday. Oh boy.

I predict more ugliness for July 4, 2007. It's a Wednesday this year so I anticipate the entire week will be a write-off, although mercifully it doesn't land on a calendar quarter or month-end.

That would be a qtr-close for us, my busiest two days of the year are usually Day 3 of the 2Q and 4Q closes -- which is generally the day after July 4th...
