DCLS Annual Membership Meeting Scheduled

I just got word that the annual membership meeting of the DC Lambda Squares is scheduled for Thursday, March 20 at 7:30 PM. There will be tonnes o' general announcements & updates, a treasury report, a state-of-the-club report from the prez and, most importantly, elections for new board members.

As much as I loved being on the board previous (three years as secretary), my plate is a little full currently so I'm not even thinking of running. I am intensely curious however who will join the board and who will take over chairing the Harper's Ferry Hoedown fly-in from retiring [livejournal.com profile] zzbear.

Mid-Atlantic Leather 2008

We went down to the Washington Plaza Hotel this afternoon to schmooze a while at MAL. We usually do this in the evenings but we're just not really into it this year. Still, we wanted to check out the vendors to see about getting a hat for each [livejournal.com profile] kent4str and [livejournal.com profile] cuyahogarvr, as well as possibly gloves for [livejournal.com profile] kent4str and boots for me.

Kent got his hat but all I got was a stack of photos. )

Late Winterization

The hottub is now emptied and winterized.

We had originally planned to do this in the fall as we typically do every year but this time we thought we'd leave the tub running on the chance we (esp. Michael) might use it during the winter. That, however, hasn't happened. Worse, the electric bill for December arrived last week. Oy.

Earlier today, we cut the power to the tub and began draining. This evening, we scooped out the remaining water. Tomorrow, we'll wrap up the beast until spring.

We'll miss you, hottub!

Watching Toronto Being Blown Up

Sitting around the house, we caught "Resident Evil: Apocalypse" on the SciFi Channel.

I hadn't seen it before but was delighted to see so much of Toronto.

That it was overrun with zombies, shot up by goons and blown up with a 5 kiloton nuke... not so much. Still, it was a fun flick.
