Anaheim, Day #10, 7/4/06 - The Trip Home

[livejournal.com profile] rlegters & [livejournal.com profile] tdjohnsn were packed & checked out, departing on the 9:40 AM Super Shuttle for the local airport. sigh

[livejournal.com profile] kent4str & I finished packing and were ready for an 11 AM checkout although we had previously arranged for a noon checkout time. I was a little surprised we were able to pack everything into our bags, but with a little compression all went well. [livejournal.com profile] rlegters forgot a new shirt hanging in the closet; we'll get that to him by mail or courier next week.

We killed some time in the early afternoon by simply walking around the area surrounding the convention center. I got a little sun on my shoulders but not a significant burn so it should fade in the next day or two. While lounging in the wonderful air conditioning of the Marriott lobby, [livejournal.com profile] dr_scott and [livejournal.com profile] excessor happened along, on their way to the gym. We must have looked pitiful still sitting there as they invited us over for cocktails in the lounge following their workout. Further blessings be upon their names for lending us a few minutes of their Internet access to confirm our LAX to IAD flight was not delayed by threatened foul weather on the east coast.

Hopping the bus at the Clarion and riding out to LAX was perfectly uneventful; apparently the evening of July 4 is a light traffic day at the airport as we were almost the only people in line at both the United check-in desk and at security.
