Office Health Fair

My employer sponsored an employee health fair at our Urbana offices today. There were many tables about general health, the importance of spotting depression, hyper-tension, etc., sign-up sheets for CPR training, free blood work testing and such. There wasn't much to keep me amused but I got a free flu shot while there.

How utterly wasted the entire event was on me didn't quite sink in until my second Big Mac at lunch 30 minutes later. Oh, well.

Ewwwwwww

Okay, explain why you would need a flu shot??!!

To help avoid the possibility of getting the flu?

It was free and it could possibly give me the means to ducking an otherwise ugly illness. I haven't had a cold in almost two years and I'd like to keep that streak going as long as I can.

...and to keep from bringing any nastiness home to me. Remember, technically I'm in the endangered group (asthma). My office isn't providing the flu shots for another couple weeks (gotta get well into cold & flu season first, I guess), but I'm slated for one.

I seeeeee...... As one of only 4 employees in an office that is relatively isolated, I guess I've never felt the need for one, but you both make valid points.
