I've been spending a lot of time listening to various podcasts lately. None are music-related: instead, I've been delighted to listen to public lectures, classroom seminars, various symposia and the like.

Recent favourites:

  • 12 Byzantine Rulers: The History of the Byzantine Empire
  • TVO's Big Ideas
  • British History 101
  • BusinessWeek - Cover Stories
  • Mother Jones Radio
  • NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory
  • Ockham's Razor
  • Swarthmore College Faculty Lectures
  • TEDTalks (video)
  • University of Bath Public Lecture Podcast
  • University of Virginia

Anyone have advice of others I should be listening to?

Absolutely check out the downloads at BBC radio: http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio4/help/podcasting.shtml
There's always something worth listening to. I also record many of their radio plays using th Hi-Q Recorder, then take them with me on my Dell Jukebox (a strictly non-Apple home here :-)
