First Newsletter!

The first DCDC2009 convention newsletter in PDF format has been sent to convention registrants and to the board of the DC Lambda Squares. The DCLS board also got a copy of our latest committee minutes, just to keep them abreast of activities.

As soon as our web guy is back from vacation and our PDF is up on the DCDC web site, I'll e-mail a link to it to the LGCWSD mailing list.

Now I need to print out 100 copies for those registrants who need copies snail-mailed, 20 copies to include in the dog-and-pony show kits which we send around the continent and another 140 to distribute in the next IAGSDC bi-monthly mail-out. Whee.

I was creating a separate list for the callers when I realized I didn't have all of their addresses. I should have that remedied in the next day or two but I'll e-mail yours immediately.

I was briefly tempted to write you and say, "Brian, dear ... there's only one "I" in "Diamond".

Fortunately, I waited long enough for the temptation to pass.

This is my way of saying "I approve" of the newsletter. I'm going to print out the activities page and make Randy read it out loud. :)

Typos in the newsletter may be sent to its editor... I'm just the delivery boy on this project since as registrar I have the e-mail & snail-mail addresses.

I'm just delighted it's done since I have had to field a few questions lately about whether folks are registered, if the convention is actually on, etc., since they haven't received any newsletters.

According to my spreadsheets, you had checked off the snail-mail option. I'd be happy to put you on the email distribution to save some $$$ though!

Clearly a data entry error. I would never request snail mail delivery! Yes, please switch me to email distribution. I'm still going to require some personal attention upon arrival to help me get over this traumatic experience. :-)
