thank you, Iona. There were a token 4 candles on this evening's cake (hardly global warming), but there's a larger celebration on Friday (not a school night so younger folk can attend), and there may be a larger dessert-on-fire then. wanna come help me blow?

Anyway, a brian birthday story:

back when he was living in toronto, i mentioned to him that i share a birthday with Marie Antoinette and kd lang. (this was when kd was wearing ugly ugly buddy-holly glasses) "So", I said, "does this mean I'm a combination Queen with rilly rilly big hair and homosexual with rilly rilly ugly glasses?"

"Sounds like Dame Edna to me!" said Brian.
