Catching Up

A smattering of items...

  • Happy 35th birthday to sister "4 of 6," Donna. It seems only like yesterday I was changing your diapers and you were throwing up on my shoulder.
  • The freezing rain threatened for today at my office seems to have warmed up to just ordinary rain. Thank god... drivers are bad enough around here as is.
  • Last night's C1 calling for our small Arlington, VA, group was fun. I called 5-6 tips while [livejournal.com profile] kent4str called one (he was feeling a little off). It was some of my smoothest calling yet and the dozen additional figures I scribbled on scraps of paper yesterday afternoon went well too. And now I have lunch money for next week. :-)
  • Today is my last day on-call for the UNIX team at work for 2007. I'm off the hook until the middle of January or so.
  • We're not sending xmas cards this year. It's a huge project and I just don't have the time & patience to make it work this year. I'll be lucky to get the gift shopping done in time.
  • I'm a little surprised to be as lucid as I am right now. Usually, so many late nights & early mornings would cripple me by now, but I'm actually very functional. Go figure.

Thank goodness you're not sending cards. It's a nice tradition and all, but Sweet Fancy Moses, does it make me like you any more (or less) than I already do? Hardly. And think of all of the trees we're saving.

Hmm. I'm thinking maybe you and I should start a company next year where we outsource the writing of Christmas Cards for wealthy patrons. (This *IS* America, after all, and capitalism is still alive and well!)
