Long Shadows Across the Day

This week isn't going overly well.

Last night, I received a telephone call from my parents to say that a longtime friend of the family died Sunday morning after a long illness.

When relaying this news to Lynn, another friend who lives in my area who knew the deceased, I learned that her longtime friend died Monday morning.

This afternoon, Kent is heading to Cleveland to help a close friend through the imminent passing of a family member. I'd be going too if I wasn't buried in work and classes.

I could use a break right about now.

Is is someone related (or at least formerly related) to M that wouldn't be much of a surprise? If so, I shall make a point of sending at least a card.
