Retaining Water?

When I go to bed, I usually take off all metal bits along with my clothes. Specifically, this my watch and my wedding ring: I don't want to risk pinching or pulling fur, either mine or [livejournal.com profile] kent4str's.

I've noticed that for the past week, I've been unable to put my ring back on my finger during the morning: I can't get it past my knuckle. By noon, it slips on easily.

Three possible explanations:
1. bodily fluids redistribute themselves overnight when I'm laying flat, causing my digits to thicken slightly; when I'm upright later in the day, gravity pulls a small amount south, restoring my normal ring size.
2. I'm consuming a lot more fluids before going to bed than during the morning. I haven't particularly noticed this habit but I haven't exactly been keeping records and grabbing a glass of water periodically is something I would do automatically.
3. My circulation sucks, or is at least clearly more inefficient at night than during daytime activity.

No big concern, just a casual observation.

Actually, I find this to be more of a "seasonal" thing, not necessarily age related, although Dr. Scott has a good point - sorry!
