kent4str called from work yesterday afternoon asking if me to substitute for him at the Chesapeake Squares club night. While I wasn't thrilled to have to my plans for the evening shot to hell --I had planned to do some additional preparation for a C1 dance I'm calling tonight-- there wasn't much choice.
The dance was entirely Mainstream (two squares) and Plus level (one square) dancing. The newbies are still having some trouble finding their feet but we workshopped a couple of calls during the breaks. By the end of the evening, they were much improved.
This coming weekend is Pass the Ocean, Hon! with callers Dayle Hodge, ChiChi Hoffner, Betsy Gotta and Ben Rubright. Our new dancers will have lots of Mainstream floor time.
BTW, if you're a GCA caller attending this fly-in and would like a calling slot, leave me a comment with your preferred calling level;
kent4str and I are co-hosting three GCA calling hours on Saturday and Sunday.
Square dancing to-do list:

- clean up guest room to house Ben Rubright next Sunday evening & deliver him to the airport Monday;
- collapse from exhaustion Monday.
