Happy Birthday, [profile] greyguy_sf!

Any chance we'll see you in DC for ACDC next month? We can celebrate in person!

Oy, Holy Night

It snowed here a couple of days ago so finally I'm in the Christmas mood. And only one month late! In the spirit of the (late) holiday, a friend offered this:

Sunday in the City

We slept in this morning thanks to a late night watching Lewis Black. It was a little shocking hearing his performance raw; usually Comedy Central bleeps certain verbal excesses but the bleeping crew goes home at midnight or so.

This afternoon, we drove into the downtown of DC to meet up with [livejournal.com profile] bigfundrew, [livejournal.com profile] bumbelion and the kids Libby and Drewby. We met up at the Lincoln Memorial; we probably would have stayed a little longer but the wind chill was unbearable: this was probably the single coldest day we've had in DC this year --great timing!

From the Lincoln Memorial and Korean War Memorial, we headed to the Air & Space Museum --delightfully warm. The kids were a blast, scurrying from one display to another --exactly as normal kids of their age should-- and it was all we could do to keep up.

By 5PM, even Drewby & Libby were running low on energy so we called it a day. I got one final shot of [livejournal.com profile] kent4str in his newly acquired hat and we hit the road for home.

A pot roast in the slow cooker was waiting for us at home. (We think it was a pork roast, but aren't sure... all we can say is that it was in the freezer for a long, long time.) The rest of the evening has been spent being lazy, curled up on the couch watching movies on TV and playing on the Internet.

Life is good.
