Weekend Report

Since work was particularly ugly this week, I was happier than usual to get away from DC and off to the trailer. Anywhere would be better than DC.

The trip itself was kinda uneventful. Kent drove the entire way. In a small compromise for having left work early, I dialled in to two conference calls, neither of which were particularly pressing but it was a small sacrifice for keeping my superiors contented.

Sunset

On our way home from West Virginia yesterday evening, we stopped in Mt. Airy, MD, to visit briefly with [livejournal.com profile] kent4str's parents (and to collect my car which we had stored in their driveway for the weekend after work on Friday). We caught a wonderful sunset from their house: the sun was a large red ball on the horizon with fog in the valley below.

Deer Infestation

Some homeowners have problems with mice. Some have rats. Some have cockroaches or termites.

We have deer.

I photographed Bambi and his brother on our neighbour's front lawn about 7 PM last Wednesday evening. They were apparently attracted by the apples falling from the tree; they also love our fig trees. Bold little beasts.

Keeping Busy

Tonight was the first in a while where I didn't have outside commitments, meetings, rallies or work-related projects with looming deadlines. I almost didn't know what to do with myself. Almost.

Once I was finished downloading the daily pr0n catching up on some prior e-mails, I loaded & ran the dishwasher, did a load of laundry, woofed down [livejournal.com profile] kent4str's lovingly made dinner, sent a C1 study list out to square dance boot camp participants, caught up on some accounting record keeping, filed some papers, re-read the DC Diamond Circulate 2009 checklist, resumed my quest for a suitable hotel room for the IAGSDC convention in May of 2007, sent an e-mail to [livejournal.com profile] cuyahogarvr to solicit his travel agent assistance, and generally prepared my backpack for work tomorrow.

And now I'm bored again.

Tomorrow night, [livejournal.com profile] kent4str will attend a meeting of the Lesbian & Gay Chorus of Washington while I plan to go dancing A2 with John Marshall's Phantom 8's club somewhere in northern Virginia.
