Want to be my neighbour?

A house around the corner from ours has gone up for sale. It is exactly the same layout as our own, built at the same time by the same developer. Yours for only $465,000!

Imagine how much they could ask for it if we weren't their neighbours! :-)

Ya damn homo's just drive down the property values. hehe

Wait. I thought the 'mos brought the property values up, since we're all about gardening and making everything look nice. A trellis here. Some pachysandra there. A nice little lyche gate. A koi pond.

Well, except me. I hate to garden. If I ever own a house, my yard is going to go for the English Country Garden look.

Or maybe pink flamingos.

lol

My only contribution to neighbourhood beautification is shoveling snow from our next-door seniors' drive way & sidewalks.

I can't bear the summer heat & humidity so the only gardening & landscaping will be either what [livejournal.com profile] kent4str does or what we pay to have done.

On the bright side, our presence helps reduce the density of neighbourhood child-age population, easing the burden on schools and buses. :-)

You've obviously never seen our house. My style is what I call "indigenous" - whatever grows there naturally. My ideal landscape is one I don't have to upkeep.

I think my mother used to call that "weeds".

Imagine how much they could ask for it if you didn't spell "neighbor" with a "U"!

Hey!

You Candians with your colourful spelling!

They have so many trees, they have room for spellings like "jewellery."

I would bet that having you guys in the neighborhood actually raises property values!

The plastic Mexicans in the front yard is how you can tell that a family of pink flamingos have moved in.

I'm no Mister Rogers, but there's a property not far from where we live that has a very similar layout and it can be yours for a mere $785,000. Ouch baby, very ouch.

OMFG! If you ever decide to sell, you could probably purchase one of the less populated states...

[identity profile] bjarvis.livejournal.com 2006-08-16 03:22 am (UTC)(link)
Ours is still one of the better maintained properties. Sometimes I wish we spent a little more time on some nicer landscaping, but that would involve work...

[identity profile] moofedct.livejournal.com 2006-08-16 05:24 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah but that would mean I wouldn't be living in California. Waaah!

I think the only other state I could live would be MA because I'd be a little more equal there than in any other state. And hey, it's on a coast!
