Fundraising for Multiple Sclerosis

[livejournal.com profile] cuyahogarvr's youngest daughter, Maurita, is raising money for MS research by participating in the Ohio Valley Chapter for Walk MS. If you could spare a few dollars to help her meet her goals, we'll all be very grateful!

Every hour in the United States, someone new is diagnosed with multiple sclerosis (MS), an unpredictable, often disabling disease of the central nervous system. In 1984 my family was affected in a very significant, personal way when my mother, Marita Krupar, was diagnosed with MS.

My mother lived with MS for 23 years. A majority of those years were spent living in a nursing home. She was absolutely the most positive and upbeat person you could ever meet. She had a smile for everyone she met and loved us kids with all of her heart. Sadly, on April 18, 2007 she lost her battle with MS. I walk to support her memory as well as the millions of other Americans living with MS today.

People with MS know something about moving that most of us don't understand -- moving is not a guarantee. This is why I have chosen to walk with more than 5,800 other participants in the Ohio Valley Chapter area for Walk MS. I am determined to help the National MS Society continue to provide comprehensive programs and services to people living with MS. The money I raise will also fund critical research that will give people with MS a better quality of life.

It's faster and easier than ever to support this cause that's very important to me. Make a secure, online tax-deductible donation now by following the link to my Personal Page at the bottom of this message. Whatever you can give will make a profound difference. If you prefer to donate by writing a check, please make your contribution payable to the National MS Society and mail it to me at 2777 Minot Ave Apt 1, Cincinnati, OH 45209.

I greatly appreciate your support and encourage you to become a part of the powerful movement that will end MS forever. I look forward to keeping you updated on my progress!

Most sincerely,
Maurita
