Brain Dead

The past few days of 14-15 hour shifts is taking its toll. While I am getting enough sleep, domestic duties are slipping and neither kent4str or I have the energy to cook. Thank god for freezer foods and microwave ovens.

The ultimate in brain dead zombie life was reached last night: because nothing else was on TV and our brains were already reduced to mush, we watched on DVD the 1965 black & white Gamera The Invincible.

Lord, it was bad but we were too comatose to care.

I came home from puppy kindergarten class to find the rest of my family watching Ghost Hunters on Sci-Fi. I hid in the bedroom until it was over.

Then we watched, gods help us, House Hunters on HGTV.

The least you could do, stuck in that gods-forsaken hellhole, would be a NetFlix subscription. Then at least you'd always have an alternative to watch. If I was limited to what's being broadcast, even with seventy-some channels on the almost-basic cable, I think I'd go nuts.

God, maybe B's right - I am spoiled. Well, actually, we knew that.

Honey, we don't have TIME to sit down and watch a 2-hour movie! If we did, we'd probably get caught up on laundry instead.
