Well, That Was a Waste of Time

bjarvisI had a confirmed car maintenance appointment with Sport Honda in Silver Spring, MD, this morning. I had a recall notice for my Civic (the airbag inflator tends to go a little overboard) so I made an appointment to drop off the car and have cuyahogarvr drive over in the minivan with me to bring me home.
We get there and find they have no replacement inflator cartridges. They're on order but wont' be in until next week. I now have an appointment for Wednesday.
Hey, Sport Honda: you guys knew I had a confirmed appointment expressly for this purpose. Why didn't you contact me to reschedule? Or knowing there were no parts available, not make the appointment for today in the first place?
You can be damn sure I'm telephoning them Wednesday morning before leaving the house to reconfirm (a) they have the appointment on the books, (b) that they have the part and (c) that they're really, really sure they have the part.
