urbear was in the greater DC area for 24 hours for a work-related presentation and we managed to snare a couple of hours with him after dinner for drinks and much delightful conversation.



It's a shame it was a school night and we all had to be conscious the next day... we could have kept talking for hours more. With a little luck, our paths will cross again soon and we can keep the conversation going!

2009 GCA Caller School Stuff

The 2009 GCA square dance caller school has moved up my priority list dramatically.

The choice of caller coaches has been no big secret: ewe_bull_akr and Todd Fellegy. Just announced, however, are the teaching assistants for the caller school: justetthon and billeyler! Yay!

I've just finished booking five hotel rooms for April 5-9, 2009, for the four staffers and the school coordinator Ken Ritucci. Alas, we've exhausted the room block for the nights of April 5-7 so our convention hotel coordinator will need to work with the Marriott to get more rooms added to our block. I figure we need another 15 rooms just for the GCA block, possibly another 10 still if there's an advanced class added later. Lord knows how many additional rooms we'll need for pre-convention tourists.
