A Drama-free Afternoon

After the ugliness of the morning, I'm very grateful to have a quiet afternoon.

I treated myself to tacos for lunch. They sometimes give me heartburn but I was in the mood for something cheap, spicy & messy, and since [livejournal.com profile] kent4str was at work, I settled for lunch instead.

Outside of a couple of trivial user queries and a failed hard drive at one of our data centers, all is quiet. I even caught up on some paperwork required for next week. Whee.

Nothing much planned for tonight, but a little cleaning around the house would be a good thing.

The Gift That Keeps On Giving

One of the square dancers at a recent fly-in has come down with chicken pox. Depending on the authority, he may or may not have been contagious during his asymptomatic weekend in Delaware. Most folks have already had it, but if one didn't... Oops. At least it isn't bird flu.

Both [livejournal.com profile] kent4str and I have had chicken pox in the distant past. Besides, neither of us had particularly close contact with our stricken friend, although we were certainly holding hands with & hugging lots of folks who did.

If nothing else, it is impossible for either of us to have chicken pox since that would interfere with our Seattle/Vancouver trip next week, and that just isn't acceptable.
